The Lens You Use to Observe your ADHD
A recent study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, indicates that adults with ADHD might benefit from CBT also referred to as talk therapy.About 4.4 percent of adults in the United States have ADHD, 85 % are estimated to be undiagnosed. The most common treatment for adult ADHD is medications like Adderall and Ritalin. But medication isn’t always enough.

Lately, I have been observing people in conversations more than I ever have before;
and what I have noticed is most people are very uncomfortable with silence.
Whether you are at a restaurant with friends, listening to a lecture or simply having
a conversation with a friend, I sense there is an underlying pressure that most people
feel to fill the space of silence. You perceive a void and feel responsible for creating
some sort of response because the silence makes you squirm in your mind and body.
“To be nobody but myself- in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else-means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight, and never stop fighting…”
E.E. Cummings
I love this quote, and although I don’t want to think of it as a fight, there have been many days where I personally felt I was involved in an overwhelming battle of my own mind. It was a huge conflict with what I wanted to be vs. who I was told I had to be.
I think in today’s world it really takes courage to be different and unique. I think it takes courage to say what you mean and act naturally, using your unique talents and intuition to take a different path than everyone else.
Our society, and its major institutions, often dictates what you have to do and how you have to do it. They also tell you the level of performance they expect from you even though they have not taken the time to determine the best ways for you to do it. They have not encouraged you to go out and explore creative, diverse ways of thinking and doing the mandated tasks and assignments you are being told to complete.

How High you Climb is your Choice (V)
Why do some people climb to a certain point, turn around and descend to the bottom?
Reaching the summit of an important goal is a choice every human being has the opportunity to take. It’s all a matter of how you look at it.

ADHD is like a rough diamond waiting to be polished.
Many people look for the perfection in diamonds and since there are no perfect diamonds, they end up just looking at its flaws.

Perfectionism Prevents Action**
There is no such thing as the perfect plan or action to produce the perfect result. Sometimes I have so many things going on in my head and in my life that I don’t know where to begin. This often leads me towards a strong tendency to try and do everything perfectly: “If I can’t do all of these things perfectly than I won’t do them at all.”
This small statement is the foundation upon which I have built my most successful coaching principles. If you are not aware of what you pay attention to on a daily basis, you will not be aware of what is growing or not growing in your life.
Hello Everyone,
It is the second day after our return from the ADDCA and ACO conferences. I am still feeling the positive energy buzzing in my head and heart.
Whenever you get 40 ADDCA people together in one room, for one day, it is going to happen every time. It was pure magic for me and those who attended.
For many of you, who have gone through the training and for those of you who will, there is a special and important exercise we do in Personal Transformation and throughout the program called, Magical Moment on the Mountain.
It is an exercise that asks you to remember one of those special moments, in your life, where you felt on top of the world. ..A time when you were full of joy, fulfillment and imagined great possibilities; and the moment you think about it, you are inspired with a surge of positive energy that ignites your internal “enthusiasm” buttons. That is what is happening to me right now as I am thinking about the events and experience of April 29 – May 2, 2010.
Thank you all for being part of creating my newest and most powerful Magical Moment on the Mountain; and for traveling to Chicago to connect with our dedicated and passionate community.
Events don’t always create the circumstances in your life. It’s how you respond to the events which can make or break your ability to grow into a stronger human being. Whenever I feel some gut-wrenching feeling in my stomach, I’ve learned to pause and distance myself from whatever is happening in the moment. I become my own witness and ask myself: “What is really going on here?”
What you pay Attention to in any given moment, is important. However, what gives Attention its purpose, is the Intention you choose to pursue.
When you pay Attention to an Intention that serves you well, wonderful things will begin to happen.
